We take referrals from psychiatric and general hospitals, shelters, community agencies and families. A woman can also initiate the admission process for herself.
After we receive a completed application, we will call to arrange an interview with the applicant. The interview will be followed by a supper date at the house so the woman can meet other residents. The application is then reviewed and if accepted, a move-in date will be set. The referral process usually takes two to three weeks. The first four weeks of a woman's stay are probationary.
Admissions Criteria
- Woman, aged 18 to 64.
- Women must be recovering from mental health issues.
- Has achieved a minimum of three months sobriety.
- Is able to provide basic self-care and hygiene.
- Requires 24-hour support.
- Must have a physical check-up before moving in.
- Is in a state of transition, not on-going crisis.
- Is not a danger to herself or others.
We ask that the application be filled out completely and sent to Margaret Frazer House by mail or fax. Please print all the information in ink. In addition, you need to read and understand the Consent for Disclosure of Personal Health Information forms. These should then be filled out, signed and included with your application.
